d1 comunication styles

Verbal communication= verbal communication is when people interact using their voice this can be done either face to face or over a mobile device. This is very effective as it it allows you to get a clear point across to someone and you can take direct feedback which is good as they can clarify there point more than they could over either texts of emails. i used verbal communication to interact with my teacher so he could tell me weather my work was completed or still needed to be added to, it also allows me to interact with my class mates and to either receive or give out praise or criticism

Broadcasting the teacher can broadcast useful projections on to the monitor to either show examples of how to do things or documents. This is very useful as it allows the teacher to show the whole class so they can see what he/she is doing right in front of them broadcasting is a good example of visual learning. this was useful to me as the teacher could broadcast to us to show us how to do things and how things work.

Blogger= blogger is an online blogging service which was very useful to me as it allowed me to share my work online so either my teacher or classmates can see it and give praise or criticism where due. It is also very useful as it gives me an online back up if any of my documents or work goes missing. Another useful aspect of blogger is that I can make my teacher a author on my site.

Gmail= Gmail is a online email service provided by Google.  Gmail was useful to me as it allowed me to send quick emails that can now be received by people on the move as it is now available on most mobile devices and tablets. Gmail allows my teachers to send me emails of confirmation if a task has been achieved or emails to let me know if a task needs to be improved or is overdue

PowerPoint = PowerPoint is a presentation programme made by Microsoft and is available to everyone at a cost. PowerPoint is a great program for making simple but effective presentations it also allows you to create simple graphics and animations. It was useful to me it allowed me to save presentations as a jpeg which is efficient as it allows them to be uploaded to a smaller size and available to view on more devises.

Google calendar = Google calendar is an online calendar service which is extremely useful especially for me doing a personal development plan as it sends an email to me informing me on my task is this day to complete.

Print screen= is when you hit the print scrn button it takes a screen shot of the whole screen,  using a print screen was very useful as it allows me to give effective tutorials in my dummies guide. i also used it demonste that i had done tasks

task 2 p3

Some barriers are due to the existing environment. If you are standing in adverse weather conditions, your conversation would be hampered because you would not be able to pay full attention to what the other person is saying for example if to people were trying to talk in the middle of a storm there communication will be limited as words could be mistaken. Distance also plays an important part in determining the course of a conversation. For example, if the staff in an organization are made to sit in different buildings or different floors, they might have to substitute face to face communication with phone calls or emails. Communication also includes using signs and symbols to convey a feeling or a thought. However, if there is a lack of ignorance about the medium in which sender is sending the message, the conversation can be hampered. For example, the use of signs to communicate can be seen in games like football and and hockey. Perceptual barrier has got to do with the prejudice that most of us tend to form before meeting an individual. If we form a prejudice about someone, then we may not be able to have an effective communication with the person. Emotions can play an important part in any conversation. Have you ever noticed that your voice acquires an aggressiveness when you are speaking on an issue you feel strongly about. Emotional barriers can cause interruptions in conversation, apart from making the speakers to form unfair assumptions about each other. Cultural barrier is one of the widely seen barrier in communication. Ignorance about each other's cultures may make us skeptic and we may shy away from expressing ourselves freely. Linguistic barriers also affect a conversation and this is not limited to difference in people's first language. English, which is one of the widely spoken languages of the world is spoken differently in England, America, Australia, South Africa etc. This can cause lack of understanding and confusion

Use of Simple Language: Use of simple and clear words should be emphasized. Use of ambiguous words and jargons should be avoided.
Reduction and elimination of noise levels: Noise is the main communication barrier which must be overcome on priority basis. It is essential to identify the source of noise and then eliminate that source.
Avoid Information Overload: The managers should know how to prioritize their work. They should not overload themselves with the work. They should spend quality time with their subordinates and should listen to their problems and feedbacks actively
Give Constructive Feedback: Avoid giving negative feedback. The contents of the feedback might be negative, but it should be delivered constructively. Constructive feedback will lead to effective communication between the superior and subordinate.
Proper Media Selection: The managers should properly select the medium of communication. Simple messages should be conveyed orally, like: face to face interaction or meetings. Use of written means of communication should be encouraged for delivering complex messages. For significant messages reminders can be given by using written means of communication such as : Memos, Notices etc.

task 2 p2

When communicating with other people you have
take into consideration a long list of principles
to keep the other person engaged in what you are saying
. You also have to consider other things like who your
speaking to why your speaking to them and do they understand you.

Interpersonal skills may include body language though some people may use body language intentionally to build rapport e.g. to help put someone at ease in a job interview. Body language can consist of everything from hand gestures to body posture and facial expressions. Positive language is also a principle as this will allow you to get your point across most effectively and is most likely to keep people engaged.

Readability is important such as Proper grammar, spelling and punctuation are often important in written communication to make text legible and easier to understand by others, as well as giving documents and letters are more professional and sophisticated appearance. Grammar is used to strucuture sentences so that they make sense to the reader, so for example "I go home and slept" would become "I went home and slept" because the author is saying what he did in the past tense but "go" is in the present tense. Spelling is used to make a group of letters become proper words so that the reader can understand what the author is saying, though sometimes it is still possible to make out the word e.g. "wierd" is a very common misspelling of "weird" due to the way the word sounds and a majority of children being taught an incredibly stupid rule. Punctuation is used in conjunction with grammar and spelling to structure and organise words and sentences, for example by seperating the meaning of a same spelt word such as "ill" to become "I'll" which is an abbrevation of "I will". It is also used to clarify sentences as punctuation can make a difference to the meaning, for example "He sprang to his feet, quickly realizing that someone was at the door." means he quickly figured out someone was at the door where as "He sprang to his feet quickly, realizing that someone was at the door." means he got up quickly when he realised someone was at the door.
You must and know your topic for example a comedian will always know when to say a certain thing this is because they are a good communicator.
Another feature of spoken language is knowing how to modulate your voice and adapt it to certain people for example you will speak differently to a friend
Than to a colleague at work. When you are speaking to people you must know your purpose for example you must know why you are communicating as you could be trying to persuade motivate or ay other reasons. You must also know your topic so you can fully explain what you are trying to say to make sure you can inform people fully. Another important principle is communicate a little at a time a good example of this is a teacher as a teacher will have to always stop for questions and expect some one to disagree this is where another principle comes into play anticipate objections this is very important as you have to acept that not everyone will agree with you so you will have to try to convince them to change theire mind
